Corinth Canal

On our trip to Mycene, we stopped at the Corinthian Canal. Originally a dry canal, small ships were dragged through to cut their journey times by several days. Large ships would be unloaded, their cargo transported along the canal and then loaded onto another ship at the other side. This is part of the reason why Corinth was such a rich city.
