Bob, Karon and Holland follow the Mother Road from Chicago to Los Angeles, detouring to Las Vegas and finishing the trip in San Francisco.
Plenty of planning went into this trip. Flights were booked – in to Chicago and out from San Francisco, a hire car, accommodation along the way and tickets/bookings for some of the attractions. It was a pretty full itinerary but we still had time to explore.

Eventually our turn came to get in the contraption that would transport us to the top of the arch. It was a mix between a lift and a tram for it followed a curved route. Gradually the car would tilt as it climbed, but every so often it would clunk and shift upright again. The whole process repeated several times.
