After the group photo we headed back to our bicycles for the off!  Tally Ho chaps!

With so many cyclists, all together, it was slow progress. Along the route there were pinch points – narrow streets, buses and other traffic all contrived to keep us from building up a good head of steam. No matter, the sun was shining and it was great fun as we rode up Fleet Street and passed St Paul’s Cathedral. We then crossed the river by London Bridge and headed back toward Westminster Bridge via the Globe Theatre.

As we rode under Big Ben and into Parliament Square, we passed the ‘Space for Cycling’ protest ride. 5,000 riders in London making a big statement!

Our first stop was The Guildhall for tea. A very civilised affair where we queued in a most orderly fashion – a very British thing.
