We managed to ride the Pino into town the first day before the weather changed. Luckily there was tram stop near our hotel<a href=\"https:\/\/viavelo-hotel.de\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"> (The Viavelo Hotel)<\/a> and we had been given transport tickets for the duration of our stay.<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The hotel was pretty basic but the welcome was good, the parking free and there was a pizzeria next door, which we didn&#8217;t use but it looked good and was popular when it was open. On the way, near Furtwangen we came across a place I had looked at visiting before we left the UK. An old woodmill, now a restaurant, caf\u00e9 and tourist souvenir outlet. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hexenlochmuehle.de\/#restaurant\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.hexenlochmuehle.de\/#restaurant\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Hexenlochm\u00fchle<\/a>. We had visited the town before, when the kids were still young. Holland was probably about 10 years old, so it would have been 25 years ago. There was a minuscule cable-car that ran up the side of the Schlossberg \u2013 the Schlossbergbahn. While there the heavens opened for a while and we retreated into the pub. We ended up back at Schlappen for food later. It was a good move as the food choices were good and well prepared. We took a look at the shops then decided to walk up to the waterfall.
