Gavin takes a snap of Hebden Bridge before the fast descent into the town. The campervan and overnight stop was literally at the bottom of the hill, so there was no need to go looking for it. Cleaned up with clean bikes too we all sat down to spag bol presented bu Stuart, team support man. Darkness descended as we finished the meal and I decided to go find my B+B.
While I took my leave of the team here to return to normality, as I write this they are just completing day 17 - in the previous two days they covered 147 miles!
23 days cycling. No breaks. No rest days. Come rain or shine. No easy way round the climbs. Each day's mileage a must to be completed – no matter how hard or long. An epic ride being made by ordinary people like you and me. Fit they may be, and yes, they have prepared and trained for this, but when it's all done they'll go back to their day jobs.
If you want to read more Gavin's blog is here. The reason for this epic ride can be found here.
